Dear Community Members:

The New Beginning Fellowship Center/Fountain Valley Alano Club is in need of your support

The high cost of addiction— from crime to injury, illness and death — affects everyone in and around our community.  Our belief is that the whole community benefits by supporting treatment options. We are a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization whose primary goal is to reduce the impact of drug addiction on the community through treatment. Our services benefit the addict, their families, and the surrounding community by offering sober alternatives to drug and alcohol use.

NBFC is dedicated to educating the community on drugs and alcoholism. All of the 12 Step meetings taking place at the Alano Club are free of charge to anyone interested in recovery. The meetings are totally dependent on individual, voluntary contributions from their own participants. The Alano Club serves hundreds of addicts and their families every month in the 12 Step support groups that meet here and in the sober activities hosted at the Alano Club. Our facilities and programs provide a safe haven for those persons seriously interested in remaining clean and sober.

We are a center that is growing and is well known and respected throughout OrangeCounty. We continue to add new meetings and treatment options: One of our newest offerings is our Dual Diagnosis support program.

This program has grown over the past few months from one meeting to two meetings a week, with more than 20 to 30 people in attendance.  In order to continue to provide proper care for our clients, we strive to employ professionals who are most current in the substance abuse field.

We are proud of our record in treating addicts and their families, and reducing the losses created by drug use on the community. Over 5,000 people have been given an opportunity for recovery in our sober living, outpatient and residential treatment programs, in the last 10 years. Our treatment program is certified by the State of State California, and has been approved by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, as well as the Departments of Probation and Parole and also for juveniles. This is essential, as the road to recovery is often a long one for many addicts. While working in conjunction with the courts, we are able to assist in solving issues that arise as a result of drug and alcohol use, while at the same time helping to address their recovery needs.  Our paid staff of professionals brings many years of education and training to the Center, to benefit the recovering addict and their families.

NBFC and the Alano Club are able to keep the doors open only by help from the community. Too often we have had to turn away the people in our own community, who need our help the most, because they have no funds left to pay for treatment. Our ability to offer treatment scholarships is limited, as we depend on community donations for scholarship funds. Our need for donations is greater than ever in this struggling economy.  Ironically, it is those same economic conditions that are creating a greater need for our services. Difficult times lead many more people down the deadly path of alcohol and drugs, while at the same time the resources available to help them, and are literally drying up.

Upon request, any individual or business interested in making a contribution to New Beginnings will be given copies of our financial statements for their review.  Tours of our facilities and Sober Living houses are also available for persons considering sizeable donations. We hope that you will join us in the fight against substance abuse and in our efforts to keep our community safe. We sincerely hope you will be willing and able to assist us through your generous contribution. We look forward to hearing from you soon.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at (714) 839-2515.

Sincerely,

Alonzo Mitchell, C.C.D.C.
