In the fall of 1994, a group of concerned citizens saw a need for an Alano club in Fountain Valley, CA, since this area seemed to be one of the only areas in Orange County where such a club did not exist. Its founder Mr. Alonzo Mitchell originally named it The Fountain Valley Alano Club The New Beginning Fellowship Center. Mr. Mitchell wanted the club to be consistent with all other Alano clubs but also wanted to reach out to others in the community. Through experience and limitations changes had to be made, therefore the New Beginning Fellowship Center was created as a separate entity and as a gift to the community. The Fountain Valley Alano Club is a facility where recovering alcoholics and drug addicts can:

Alcoholism, substance abuse, eating disorders, domestic violence, ex-offenders! Despite greater sophistication in the prevention and/or treatment in these areas, no one method has proven better than the rest. However, it is understood that social support groups are vital to permanent recovery regardless of the initial treatment process. The New Beginning Fellowship Center supports and even compliments the Alano-Club in so many ways, offering addicted individuals/offenders with a smoother more logical and comprehensive road to recovery for a happier and more productive lifestyle.
